Kingdom People (On a mission with God 1)
ON MISSION TO THE WORLD
When you respond to God’s invitation to a close love relationship with Him, He brings you into a special partnership with Himself. God has added you to a local body of believers. Together you are the body of Christ in your community. As the Head of your church, Christ Himself is guiding and working through your congregation to accomplish the will of the Father.

Life in the Body
LIFE IN THE BODY
As we allow God to teach us how to effectively live as a body, we will see love and unity spring forth that you may not have experienced before. Effective body life begins when each individual is rightly related to God in an intimate love relationship. It continues as all members become rightly related to Jesus Christ as the Head of the church. Right relationships with God are far more important than buildings, budgets, programs, methods, church personnel, or size.

The Body of Christ 2
1. What is the Body of Christ?
The Body of Christ” is a metaphor for the Church (all those who are truly saved). The Church is called “one body in Christ” in (Romans 12:5), “one body” in (1 Corinthians 10:17), “the body of Christ” in (1 Corinthians 12:27) and (Ephesians 4:12), and “the body” in (Hebrews 13:3). The Church is also equated with “the body” of Christ in (Ephesians 5:23) and (Colossians 1:24).

The Body of Christ

A church needs to learn to function as the body of Christ.

(John 14:21) Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my father, and I too will love them and show myself (Reveal) to them.
We know God more intimately as he reveals himself to us through our experiences with him.

A real, personal, practical relationship
Do you think your life is impacting the Kingdom of God?

Walking with God
God created the first man and woman, Adam, and Eve, for a love relationship with Himself. After Adam and Eve sinned, they heard God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. They hid from Him because of their fear and shame.

A Love Relationship with God
How about a love relationship with God?
To be loved by God is the highest relationship, the highest achievement, and the highest position in life.

God Pursues a Love Relationship
A love relationship with God is more important than any other single factor in your life.
(Matthew 22:37–39) Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.

God Speaks with a Purpose
We tend to want God to speak to us so He will give us a heart-warming devotional thought to make us feel good for the rest of the day. If you want the God of the universe to speak to you, you need to be ready for Him to reveal what He is doing where you are. In Scripture God is not often seen coming and speaking to people just for conversation’s sake. He was always working to accomplish His purposes. When God speaks to you through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, the church, or another way, He has a specific purpose in mind.

God Speaks to His People
Introduction: God has not changed. He still speaks to His people.
In the Old Testament God spoke at many times and in a variety of ways. Through Jesus, God spoke to His people. Now God speaks through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will teach you all things, call to your memory the things Jesus said, guide you into all truth, speak what He hears from the Father, tell you what is yet to come, and glorify Christ as He reveals Christ to you.

God's Plans vs. our Plans
Introduction: Often, we want God to give us specifics—where to work, where to live, whom to marry, what car to buy. God allows us to make choices, but if we are connected to Him, He will help us from making wrong choices.

Looking to God: God-Centered Living
Introduction:
Part of the Book of Genesis is the record of God accomplishing His purposes through Abraham. It is not the record of Abraham’s walk with God. Can you see the difference in focus? The focus of the Bible is God. The essence of sin is a shift from God-centeredness to self-centeredness. The essence of salvation is denying self instead of affirming self. We must deny ourselves and return to God-centeredness in our lives. Then God has us in a place where He will accomplish His eternal purposes through us.

God’s Will and Your Life
We often act as though God tells us what He wants us to do and then sends us off by ourselves to try and accomplish it to the best of our ability. Then anytime we need Him, we call on Him, and He comes to help us. That is not the biblical picture. When God is about to do something, He reveals it to His people. He wants to accomplish His work through His people.

Experiencing God (God’s Will and your Life)
God’s will- God's desire or plan for everything that exists

How is Satan the God of this World
Satan- is described in the Bible as an angelic enemy of God and, by extension, the enemy and opponent of those who follow God.

Witness in the 21st Century
Witness- A “witness” is someone who attests to a fact, so in order to be an effective witness for Christ, one must have firsthand knowledge of Him.
